Craft Weekend at the T's!
Between Conference sessions, the hubs and I have been working on our (and by our I mean "my"... what a guy being so helpful!) little painting projects. You have to understand if you don't know this about me already, but I am SO not a crafty person. I did scrapbook for a while, but I have zero hand-eye coordination and lack most or all ability to make something cute. Plus, I had the understanding that crafts were lame as my experience was limited to stupid projects from Young Womens (my leaders would always scold me for making my own thing instead of a Young Women Value Mobile. Gay!) and seeing foo foo rafia crap in middle-aged LDS homes. I recently made some new friends in my ward here that do some stuff that is actually really cool. One of them repaints hand-me-down furniture to make them her own and they look really good! Seeing what she has done inspired me to rescue give-away items and some of the wah-wahhh stuff I already have a new, adorable life! We are about done with contestant #1 aka tiny table. I think it just needs a lil inspection and a nice coat of gloss since I thought I wanted satin finish, but it turned out to be much more flat-looking than I expected. I decided I would like them to be glossy anyway. Next up are a mirror, a lamp and an old bookcase. I will update with before and after pictures after we are done!

I Remember.
Ten years ago today, I was a fifteen-year-old- high school sophomore. I heard the awful news while I was dressing out for gym class when a classmate came into the locker room and told us what had happened just a few minutes earlier. We watched the news all day in every class and people were praying and crying. So many heroes were born that day, and I remember how united this country became. I miss it. With wet eyes, my thoughts and prayers are still with the families of the fallen. I remember.

Fall is on its way!
I am sooo pumped for the gorgeous weather that began today and will continue through the week (and hopefully beyond!). The highs all week will be around 75. Perfect! I would love to live somewhere with California-type weather where winter means a sweater at most. Joe and I went on a Sunday drive tonight and as we walked to the car I actually got chilly and ran in for a sweatshirt! Love it! (The bank sign we passed said it was 64.) I normally don't like fall because then winter is around the corner, but after all this 100+ degrees crap this summer I am all for a cool down.

Interesting article...
Just wanted to share an article ("Are Evil People Crazy?") I thought was interesting and thought that maybe it might interest some of you, too. I would love to hear your opinions and insights on it. What a great debate topic!
PS: If you think I'm weird, just remember that I am a psych major! :)

So adorable I might just change my evil ways...
So I think someone posted a link on FB a link to an article on a fashion blog written by a man. It turned out to be a modest fashion blog and browsing it (looking for ideas to still look good even when I feel like a nun on a campus full of hoochie-dressed ladies) and I found a link to a swimsuit website that interestingly only has modest swimsuits (even some for you mamas-to-be). To be honest with you, it's been years since I have even considered wearing a one-piece, but this site actually has me reconsidering -- the swimsuits are THAT CUTE! Now that is really saying something. SO if you are looking for an adorable one-piece or modest tankini, go HERE! They (not surprisingly) have a ton of stores throughout Utah, more surprisingly they have one in Rexburg (great news for all you BYU-I ladies) and they even have a few locations elsewhere. Enjoy, my friends!

Anyone feel like an apple?
We now have for the first time in our (year long) marriage... INTERNET! I wrote about how my old laptop got broken like two weeks after we got married, so we had no reason to get internet until now. I will probably blog more often now that I have a new laptop.
Well, I start school on Monday and I am excited and NERVOUS! I feel like a freshman all over again. An old freshman. I hated the feeling the first time around. I would sneakily look at my map of campus and pretended that I did know where I was going (it took me like an hour to walk to my apartment once that should have only taken ten minutes tops). Well, SEVEN years later (Seriously! Starting to feel old, people!) -- after five years of college and a two year break -- I am returning to school to FINALLY finish up my bachelors degree! It has taken far too long! Tommy Boy can be heard in my head: "Tons of people take seven years to graduate." "Yeah. They're called doctors." Oh well though. Anyway, I am starting at a new school, the University of Kansas, and couldn't be happier! We moved to this great little town two months ago, and it was relatively empty. Lawrence is buzzing right now with all the kids back and they have their little parents with them and everyone is hoarding school supplies... it has stopped being so freakin' hot and the days are getting shorter... I feel fall coming and I just want to sharpen some pencils and take a big bite out of a big, red apple. Wish me luck!

SHOULD I CUT MY HAIR OFF?!?
Help!help!help! I have been growing out my hair for two years aka the last time I cut my hair into a short A-line which was cute and fun, but having my hair that short drives me crazy since if you don't feel like doing your hair you have no choice... you can't put it up! Well, anyways... My hair is now rib cage length which means it's FINALLY where I want it (HELLO SHAKIRA HAIR!), but the thing is I'm not sure that it's the most flattering on me since 1) I have an oblong (read: long)-shaped face and long hair just draws it out and 2) long, long hair probably doesn't help the fact that my baby face makes me look like I'm 12. Here is a picture of my hair a year ago which I am seriously considering going back to and my hair now. Forgive the quick-and-dirty myspase-ish bathroom photo and my apparently poochy stomach. I like food... so sue me.
PS: There is a place to the right to VOTE for medium or long hair! 8)
