Let me tell you about my FAVORITE blog!

It's called "PostSecret" and people from all over the world mail in their secrets annonymously on postcards. There is something so fascinating about reading strangers' secrets -- things they have never told anyone else. What's more fascinating is that there is a chance that one of them may not be a stranger at all. Maybe one is about YOU! The secrets are updated with new secrets every Sunday. Reading them either makes me feel grateful that I am not in that situation or envious that these people have something worth writing. I would have to write something average in a deceitfully interesting way. Here's to people with crazy things to share! :) Check out the site. I'm addicted!

merry christmas

we want to wish all of our friends and family members a very merry christmas. we got a white christmas here in kansas city which doesn't happen often. i could probably count the ones i've seen here, but none specifically come to mind. it's so pretty out and so Christmas-y, thought it's supposed to reach blizzard status overnight and through out tomorrow. snow is beautiful, but i hope no one is stuck driving in dangerous conditions. joe and i are apart for the holidays unfortunately, but next year we will have a great first Christmas together as husband and wife :) we send our love out to all our loved ones out there. be safe and have a happy holiday.

dig this quote

"the questions 'where', 'when', and 'how' can only be answered by the person or thing that knows the answer to 'why'."
no clue who wrote that -- i found it on a friend's facebook profile. maybe she made it up. well, regardless, i thought it profound and wanted to share on my domestic little blogaroo.
in other news, i think i found the dress my bridesmaid will be sporting today. i'm pretty excited, especially since finding the perfect dress (adorable, moderately priced, modest, and in the right shade) is harder than it sounds. planning is a lot of fun, but definitely complicated. hats off to those of you who planned or are planning weddings in short amounts of time. those of you who did this voluntarily, i think you're crazy.

happy turkey day!

i, brenbren, am thankful for YUMMY FOOD and technology so that i can communicate with you-know-who despite the distance between us 8) i'm also thankful for a few days off from work to just hang, the fact that my hours just got changed to full-time at last, and the fact that i even have a job during this time of crappy economy. i visited joe last week for eight days instead of this week because it was about 1/4 the price of the airfare for this week. i'm bummed to not share thanksgiving with him and to be miss his brother's wedding on saturday. congratulations, charlie and amy! the last few days i have been working on what things we want for our wedding and what things aren't important to us. we like simple. i can't imagine the headaches and tummy aches the brides who are planning super elaborate weddings must get. currently, i am scouting around looking for good, reasonably priced photographers for our engagement photos this spring and for our wedding day this summer. well, anyway, that is the latest on this end. have a great holiday with your families!

it's possible that i'm jumping the gun...

...but who cares! before i was engaged, i always mocked the cutesy domestic stuff but now i have caught the bug. i have started a scrapbook for our family beginning with pictures of us when we were dating on through our engagement days and in a few months it will include our wedding and eventually our new babies :} yes, i have definitely caught something. i just love being in love and joe and i consider ourselves a family and we certainly work like one. i am loving preparing and growing into becoming a wife and eventually a mother. well, that is that, at least for now.
